Outchamind offers a viable alternative to traditional intervention programs by combining the fine arts with radical interactive instruction within Campus Clubs and NLNB Leadership Program. OM Mentors work with detention centers, counselors, intervention specialist and teachers to identify and interact with approximately 600-700 youth annually. Our fresh approach creates a cooperative learning environment that produces an excitement to learn. Of the students who participate in our programs, several of them return as Jr. Mentors to help their peers. The innovative instructional model places students in control of their learning and virtually eliminates discipline problems. The format allows our instructors to be facilitators and mentors to students in a browser-based classroom management system.
The PITSCO Modules System, coupled with the character building principles within our Teach-One-To-Lead-One Leadership curriculum provides non-traditional intervention that closes a widening gap for students who, without intervention, may never see graduation day. With several programs to choose from, we have the ability to design intervention solutions in applied math and science that are aligned to state standards and that give additional support to school systems, teachers, parents and students to ensure every child the opportunity obtain the knowledge and skills they need to be successful.
